About Us
CorcaniSoul Kennel is a small kennel where dogs are part of the family and actively involved in our lives.
We got our first Labrador in 2021 and immediately fell in love with the breed. From a carefully selected litter, we brought home our Luna (Cito Luna vom Trogenbach), and within a year and a half, we also added Lady (Antonia Lady vom Baronschlossl) and Lucky (Epic Lucky vom Trogenbach). All three are wonderful representatives of their breed, each with their own personality, strengths, and uniqueness. A part of our family is also Luisa, who came to us from a shelter and is not part of our breeding program, but she plays a significant role in our learning about dogs and is a great help in socializing our puppies.
I, Živa Rudolf, am the founder of the dog school CorCanis, which is based on creating a good and respectful relationship between handler and dog. With constant acquisition of new knowledge in dog training, learning about canine psychology, and body language, we are continually developing and learning together with our dogs. My goal is to ensure that a dog’s needs and instincts are met, to bring peace and relaxation into their lives, and to not suppress their primal nature and uniqueness. I strongly believe in the saying that you should work with the dog in front of you, seeing and accepting them as they are, rather than as you wish them to be. Only in this way can we build an authentic relationship based on cooperation and respect.
Currently, Lady and I are in the process of training to become a rescue dog and a rescue dog handler at the Slovenian Rescue Dog Association. Since all three are typical retrievers, we’re also working on retrieving. I always incorporate nose work and various mental exercises into our walks and activities. I constantly strive for a balance between exciting activities that fill us with a certain level of positive stress and calming exercises that provide a counterbalance to the former.
In our kennel, the typical Labrador temperament and the stability of the dog are of great importance, which is why we are committed to appropriately socializing the puppies and exposing them to various stimuli, so they leave us as well-prepared as possible for life in today’s world.
